What is A Blitz Cleaning?

What is a blitz cleaning? A Blitz Clean is a customizable, deep cleaning of your facility.

The ideal clients for this service are:

  • Large facilities that house multiple companies (multi-level buildings) where the ‘main cleaning’ is included in their rent. Often time areas such as restroom cleaning, glass cleaning, minimal dusting, minimal vacuuming, and common areas are covered. However, offices and detailed cleaning are not included in their plan.
  • Small companies that do their routine janitorial cleaning ‘in house’. Often times an employee cleans after hours or on the weekend.
  • Businesses who are totally unhappy with their current cleaning company, because they have become complacent in their cleaning routine. A blitz clean is a perfect way to get your facility up to an acceptable level for a new janitorial contractor to begin work (yes, we can offer that work too).

What are the common areas that are cleaned during a blitz clean?

  • High/low dusting Throughout
    • Air grids, vents, corners, ledges, baseboards, cubicle walls, picture frames, behind doors that do not typically close, and other horizontal services where dust may accumulate.

We use Benefect Disinfectant in our blitz cleaning projects. Why do we choose Benefect?

When their 10 year old son, Conor, was only born with 10% of his immune system functioning Jen and Sam knew they had to do something. They knew that they didn’t want to ‘clean’ their home with dangerous chemicals that would harm their son as much as his environment would.

That is when Sam turned to his mom, an aromachologist, to help formulate a solution. After many trials and years of work they found what they were looking for. Benefect was the first and only Botanical Disinfectant in North America. It proved to be just as effective at killing bacteria as traditional disinfectants but is less toxic than vinegar!!

Some of the details that you may want to peruse, but at this point we are just bragging:

  • Kills Over 99.99% of Germs
  • Virucidal (HIV-1) • Bactericidal (Including MRSA)
  • Fungicidal, Tuberculocidal
  • Made From Plant Extracts
  • Pleasant Aromatherapeutic Vapors
  • No Synthetic Fragrances, Dyes or Bleach
  • No Cautions/Warnings on The Label or MSDS Sheets
  • No Rinse or Wipe Required
  • No Mixing Required

It is suitable for use around children, pets, the elderly and chemically sensitive individuals. So you can relax about chemical contamination, overspray & evacuating building occupants.

As an employer, you are liable for the health and safety of your employees. Using Benefect will help to ensure you are providing the safest AND best cleaning agent available.

Still not sure if you need a blitz cleaning?

My first suggestion would be to give us a call, and we will be happy to come out and give you a free, no obligation assessment of your facility. But if you’re not there yet, here are a few things you can do to self evaluate your facility:

  1. Ask the responsible party what exactly your janitorial staff is responsible for. If you can have them take care of their business, you may not need to spend the additional cost of a blitz clean and the hassle of hiring a new crew.

If you find out that option is not available…

  1. Look under your desk. Under your desk is where random staples and paperclips go to die… Maybe, SOMETIMES, you miss your garbage can and there are some old post it notes too…
  2. Look behind doors that don’t get closed very often. When your janitorial staff vacuums, they should be looking behind doors and in corners.
  3. Check window ledges, the top of door frames, window blinds. These areas are common places for dust to accumulate. They are also common areas for janitorial eyes to miss and overlook.

Now that you are ready, give us a call. Here is our process:

  1. Evaluate. We will come to your facility to evaluate the extent of the cleaning services you will need.
  2. Set Expectations.   During our evaluation we will discuss and set the expectations. We will discover what your ‘hot button’ issues are. We will clearly explain what is necessary and what is possible. Any information we discuss prior to the project is education, anything we discuss after is an excuse.
  3. Make a plan. We will go back to our ‘clean scheme layer’ and devise a plan to ensure your blitz cleaning obtains all the benefits you are looking for while minimizing any effect to your business functions. Our goal is to clean your entire facility in one day (We have an extensive list of top notch cleaners).
  4. Quote the Cost. We will provide you with a quote to complete the work with the detailed plan of how to accomplish it.
  5. Execute the plan.   On the scheduled day of the cleaning, we will carry out our plan and ensure your happiness. If for some reason, you are unhappy with your results, we will revisit your facility to fix any issues you may have.

Additional Services offered for blitz cleaning:

Carpet Cleaning

  • Pre-Vacuum– 74-79% of carpet cleaning is dry soil removal!  It is much easier to remove dirt than it is to remove mud. We use hepa-filter vacuums to maximize the amount of dirt and soils that are removed from the carpet.
  • Pre-Spot- Each spot in your carpet has its own ph/chemical makeup, and it is important to know this so that the proper spotting agent is used, so we can remove that unwanted spot in your carpet.
  • Pre-Spray– We will pre-spray our cleaning agent on your carpet, to allow for proper dwell time.
  • Agitate– Just like in anything you wash, agitation is important to loosen the unwanted particulates from the fiber they are stuck to.
  • Rinse– Proper removal of all soils and cleaning agents is necessary to assure that re-soiling does not occur more rapidly than normal. That is why we use our truck mounted, hot water extraction unit to pull the unwanted soils, dirt, contaminates, and cleaning agents out of your carpet.

Carpet will be dry in 6-8 hours from the time area is cleaned. Be sure to be careful if you walk from damp carpet onto a dry hard surface floor, as your feet will be wet, which could cause for slippery conditions.

Ceramic Tile and Grout Cleaning

  • Pre-Vacuum– All loose dirt, debris, and contaminants will be removed from the floor.
  • Pre-Spray– We will pre-spray our cleaning agent on the ceramic tile and grout, to allow for proper dwell time.
  • Agitate– Just like in anything you wash, agitation is important to loosen the unwanted particulates from the ceramic tile and grout where they are stuck.
  • Rinse– Proper removal of all soils and cleaning agents is necessary to assure that re-soiling does not occur more rapidly than normal. That is why we use our truck mounted, hot water extraction unit (up to 1000 psi) to pull the unwanted soils, dirt, contaminates, and cleaning agents off your floor.
  • Seal- The grout will then be sealed with a grout sealer to help protect from re-soiling, and make the grout easier to clean in the future.

After sealing the grout, be sure to stay off the grout lines for 4 hours.

VCT Clean and Wax

  • Vacuum- We will remove all loose dirt and contaminants from the area with a back pack vacuum.
  • Strip- A floor cleaner/stripper will be applied to the area and allowed the proper amount of dwell time.
  • Scrub- The floor will then be scrubbed with a floor-scrubbing machine to remove unwanted dirt, debris, scuffs, and old wax from the floor.
  • Rinse- The floor will then be rinsed with a neutral cleaner and a mop to pick up all the unwanted dirt, debris and old wax from the floor.
  • Wax- We will then apply 4 coats of 25% solids wax to protect and shine the flooring.

After wax has been applied, it is best to stay off the floor for 8 hours, and not to move furniture on it for 24 hours.

LVT and other Hard Surface Materials

  • Vacuum- We will remove all loose dirt and contaminants from the area with a back pack vacuum.
  • Scrub- The floor will be scrubbed with a floor-scrubbing machine to remove unwanted dirt, debris, scuffs, and any old finishes from the floor.

Commercial Area Rug Cleaning

Whether it is the rug you bought at the department store or an imported rug, it is imperative that you have a trained professional clean your area rugs to assure that it is not damaged during cleaning.  Fresh Floors can offer an onsite or offsite cleaning process, depending on your needs.

Commercial Odor Control

Fresh Floors offers many different options to rid your commercial space of any unwanted odors, whether it is smoke or just stale air.  Sometimes an odor killing deodorizer will work, other times you may need an air scrubber that recycles all of the air in your space.  We will customize the equipment based on your needs.  If you have any unwanted odors in your commercial space call us and we’ll make it smell FRESH once again…

Floor Maintenance Programs

Floor Maintenance Programs are an important part in all commercial facilities for a few reasons.

  1. The longer your flooring lasts, the more inexpensive it is.
  2. It is more cost effective to maintain a floor than it is to restore a floor.
  3. Everyone prefers to look at and walk on a floor that never gets so gross someone says, “WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING WITH THESE FLOORS!!”

That is why at Fresh Floors our focus is maintaining the floor at a frequency that never allows your floor to reach an unacceptable level while keeping the cost at an acceptable level.  Whether your floor is carpet, ceramic tile and grout, vinyl, VCT, hardwood, or something else, Fresh Floors is there to make sure we make your experience the best it can be.

The Floor Maintenance Programs we design are totally customizable.  Every area of your facility receives different levels of traffic.  The entryway may need to be cleaned monthly while the offices may only need to be cleaned every 6 months.  Often times the main corridors may need to be cleaned every quarter.  Not only are the frequency of cleanings customizable, but also the cleaning method.

Carpet cleaning needs to be hot water extracted at least one time per year.  In-between those deep cleanings, a low moisture-maintenance cleaning is usually acceptable.

VCT flooring needs totally stripped down and waxed sometimes, while other times a high speed burnishing will meet the floor care needs.

The point is, we will do whatever is the most cost effective, while keeping your desired level of cleanliness.
